The Promenade is a new development consisting of 227,000 square feet of retail ranging from large box to small in line shops. Additionally, there are 6 outlots available from 1.2 to 3.0 acres. This will be the newest retail addition to this increasingly popular suburb of the Twin Cities.
Rosemount has seen considerable growth in population in the past decade.
Since 1990 Rosemount claims a 75% increase in population. Rosemount's growth is partly due to it's convenient proximity to the Downtown Minneapolis Central Business District. Just 25 miles from the bustling metropolitan area, Rosemount offers a convenient suburban lifestyle. Another impetus for growth is the strong educational system. Rosemount is part of the state's highly rated District 196 schools which consistently ranks among the top in the state. The robust housing market in Rosemount can also be attributed to the school system. Nearly 1,500 housing permits for over 2,000 units with a value of $422 million were awarded in 2005. As the population continues to grow at over 1,000 residents per year, the trade area has yet to keep pace, thus making Rosemount Promenade a welcome addition to the Rosemount commercial landscape. The average family income within a three mile radius of the new Rosemount Promenade is over $98,380. Rosemount's Mayor, Bill Droste, says " Incredible growth has been well-managed to create wonderful neighborhoods. We have embraced growth as an opportunity to make critical and thoughtful investments in our infrastructure and our environment that will serve our community for generations."
The Rosemount Promenade site is located at what can be referenced as "main and main" or the southeast corner of Highway 3 and County Road 42. Commuters from Hastings, Northfield, Lakeville and Farmington utilize these roadways.
Traffic counts average over 26,000 cars per day on the roadways surrounding Rosemount Promenade.
